Experience SCUBA Diving

From ages 10 years+

Your underwater adventures start here.

The SSI Basic Diver program is a great way to experience the excitement of scuba diving without committing to a full certification course. Available for divers 10 years and older who meet the program requirements, it combines an introduction to scuba theory with practical training and a supervised open water dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres, giving you the opportunity to experience the underwater world with the guidance of an SSI Professional.

You will learn the basics of scuba equipment, underwater communication, buoyancy, and safe diving practices before putting your new skills into practice in the water. The program is designed to be enjoyable and relaxed while giving you a genuine taste of recreational scuba diving and helping you decide whether you would like to continue your diving education.

For younger divers aged 8 to 10, they can enjoy our Try SCUBA experience, designed as a fun introduction to breathing underwater. See our Diving for Kids page for more information about scuba experiences and courses for children.

Whether you are trying scuba for the first time, looking for a new holiday adventure, or considering becoming a certified diver, SSI Basic Diver offers an enjoyable and memorable introduction to the underwater world.
By the end of this short course, you’ll have earned your SSI Try Scuba recognition card and, we’re sure, caught the diving bug

There’s a whole new world waiting to be explored, take your first breath underwater today!
